Meet The Color It Forward Team
Michelle Gill – Executive Director
After 15 years as a professional stylist and colorist, Michelle’s passion is now to help women by “reaching out through beauty”. She is the founder and Executive Director of Color It Forward, an organization which helps women who are in transitional situations enhance their outer beauty, while building their confidence and self-esteem. Daughter of a salon owner and successful entrepreneur, Michelle has a lifetime of experience in the beauty industry. She has been published in Salon Opinion Magazine, and her blog “Whisper Talk Scream” contains truthful and sometimes humorous tales of her “life lessons behind the chair”, her craft, and her journey of Color It Forward. She holds a B.A. from the University of Kentucky. Michelle has served on various non-profit boards, is a NJ native, and lives in Hunterdon County with her husband and three children.
JENNIE METENOSKY – Board President
Jennie has over 20 years’ experience serving individuals in need. She started in Somerset County providing Rape Crisis Hotline support and participation in several programs for Senior Citizens. She then worked as a per-diem counselor at Catholic Charities in Flemington. Here she provided diverse care and advocacy in a clinical setting. She then integrated those skills and experience into the pharmaceutical industry’s patient support services working for companies including The Franklin Group, inVentiv Health and Novartis. The varied programs she directed connected uninsured and under insured with needed medications and ancillary support in a variety of disease categories. She is an experienced leader of over 150+ employees including managers and directors. Her operations, project management and consulting experience includes designing and launching numerous programs of varying sizes with an eye on cost, process efficiency and customer service. Jennie received her Masters with honors at Rutgers School of Social Work and is licensed in the state. She has served on the advisory boards for several patient assistance conferences, is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Healthcare Business Women’s Association and is the newest Color It Forward Board Member. She currently provides consulting services for Transition Patient Services including Quality Compliance SOP management, patient assistance program design and projects for the National Stroke Association. She lives in Hunterdon County with her husband John; their fantastic children, Amanda and John; and their rescue dog Fern.
Laura Pavan – Treasurer
Laura Pavan was born in Albuquerque New Mexico and raised in New Jersey. Laura was a Police dispatcher and worked fulltime while attending Rutgers University part time, which she paid for without assistance. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice. After working almost 14 years as a dispatcher and Police Records Clerk, she became a Police Officer. Some of her many duties as a police officer included teaching DARE, Liaison with the Domestic Violence Response Team and CPR Instructor. Laura retired from police work in 2012, but after six months returned to her police department full time as a Police Services Aide. When Laura isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and beloved pets. Laura is currently the Secretary for Color It Forward and is proud to be a part of such a wonderful organization.
